Things to do in Canberra – build your own day trip.
You know we do love our little recon trips. A trip over to the capital last week uncovered a few newer things to do.
Botticelli to Van Gogh. Spanning 450 years, Botticelli to Van Gogh: Masterpieces from the National Gallery, London presents 60 paintings by some of Europe’s most revered artists. Exclusive to Canberra. 5 March – 14 June 2021. That is a must see!
The National Arboretum, not exactly new but worth mentioning as it makes a great day out. If you haven’t been, you should. Fantastic gardens and views you may not have known Canberra had. If you head over around lunchtime, try one of the pies. At 1.30pm there is a 45min bus tour which costs $10 or ($5 for pensioners). While there, be sure to check out the Bonsai gardens (where the guide told us all about baby trees and how they have been used for backdrop in movies such as Crocodile Dundee. How about that?
Your Own Day Trip
You know, you could take the morning bus over; visit the gallery; then lunch at, and a tour of the Arboretum; then finish in time for the afternoon shuttle home. A return ticket is still cheap as chips and all you’d have to do is arrange your own taxi/uber/friend for a lift from the gallery to the arboretum.
Just call us or book a return trip online. Remember we have $5 off for same day returns.
On Ya Bike to the South Coast
For bike clubs, groups or just single riders, we can help you transport your pushy to or from the South Coast. The south coast has a stack of excellent bike trails and rides, from easy to difficult. We’ve put together a little write up for our freewheeling enthusiasts.
What do you think it is? Bus Week?
Bus Safety Week will run from Monday 22 to Sunday 28 February 2021 to raise awareness for all road users on how to stay safe on and around buses, helping to reduce injuries and fatalities. More details here:
Actually, there is not much to update. The Canberra and south coast areas have fared very well in recent months. It’s worth noting our shuttle drivers are still wearing masks and we encourage (not insist) our passengers do also.
