About the Gardens
Soak up nature at its most stunning at Hunter Valley Gardens, built by Bill and Imelda Roche over four years with a dedicated team of over 40 landscape gardeners, architects and engineers.
There are eight kilometres of walking paths winding through 14 hectares of gardens consisting of over 6000 trees, 600,000 shrubs and over 1 million ground cover plants, plus waterfalls, statues, murals and much more. The ten individually themed gardens showcase the artistry of gardens around the world and use both native and exotic varieties of plants.
Hunter Valley Gardens is a beautiful, nature based, experience for local, national and international visitors.
And the Famous Christmas Lights
The annual Christmas Lights Spectacular transforms the gardens into a magical night time experience for young and old. There is live entertainment, Santa’s workshop display, and incredible rides including our Ferris Wheel, Swing Chair, Carousel, Super Slide and Inflatable zones. Our tasty food and beverage stalls will be available throughout the event plus a special fireworks display.
Day 1: We will pick you up at your door and head to the Hunter Valley stopping for Carol’s famous morning tea. Lunch will be at mystery stop on the way (lunch is at own cost). Tonight we dine at the character-filled Harrigan’s Inn.
Day 2: After breakfast, we explore the Hunter Valley Gardens – set on 25 acres with 10 stunning feature gardens. The train ride allows you to see everything–have those cameras ready or just sit back and relax. You can choose to have lunch at the gardens or at the Hunter Valley Gardens Shopping Village where you can pick up that special memento. Tonight we enjoy the tour highlight, the Christmas Feast and Light Spectacular.
Day 3: After breakfast we hit the highway and make our way back home but not before a mystery stop (lunch is at own cost).
It’s a great few days and one of our favourite trips on the calendar.
