Day1– Sees us greeting the early morning with gusto and enthusiasm for the adventure ahead. We head to our overnight accommodation in Dubbo via the picturesque valleys of Boorowa, where we stop for a light lunch (own cost) and Canowindra. Dinner and rest after our days travel. DA

Day2 – We will visit the Taronga WesternPlains Zoo for a few hours including lunch, conversing with the animals and theZoo staff. We then head to the historic gaol for an insight as to how the prisoners lived without modern amenities of today. Back to the motel for alovely dinner and maybe a drink or two. (Drinks your cost) BDLA

Day3 – Today we head off to our destination of Lightning Ridge travelling via Coonamble for lunch (own cost).We have a free afternoon once we arrive with plenty of time to explore the town or you can coerce the driver to take you around to the Hot Springs. These springsare hot all year round being feed by artesian waters. BDA

Day4 – We pick up a local guide – Herman Krellar and spend the day exploring this interesting area. We finish our tour with a visit to the guides shop – the Opal Cave.  BDA

Day5 – We will be exploring two (2) opal mines today. The first is the Chambers of the Black Hand – here you will se emagnificent sculptures deep underground. If you are claustrophobic be assured the LED lighting will calm your nerves. (I can speak from first hand experience). Our second mine is the Lost Treasure Opal Mine, again a visit underground and a talk from the owner.    BDA

Day6 – We leave Lightning Ridge todayand head south to our overnight accommodation in Mudgee. Along the way we will pass through the towns of Coonamble for morning tea (own cost) andCoonabarabran for a picnic lunch. We will be visiting the Honey Haven factory for all things honey and a delightful Devonshire afternoon tea.  BLDA

Day7 – We explore the town of Gulgong today, visiting the Red Hill Gold Mining Precinct with a chance to try ourhands at gold panning and then explore the town itself. Dinner will be back inMudgee.  BDA  

Day8 – Our adventure is coming to an end but not before we do a trip around the famous Mount Panorama race track at Bathurst. Lunch (own cost) at historic Crookwell and then it’s down themountain to home. B
