It might be called the Snowies, but this little piece of the county makes for a great summer sightseeing trip.

Accompany the Rixons team on a picturesque summer tour to the Snowy Mountains in February 2021. The Snowy Mountains summer tour includes 4 breakfasts, 1 light lunch and 4 dinners.

Itinerary: Snowy Mountain Summer Tour

Day 1 – 22nd Feb

7:30am for Batemans Bay departure (8am) – Moruya pick up 8:45am – Dalmeny/Narooma pick up.

10am – Indulge in Carol’s simply marvellous morning tea.

Enjoy the scenic drive to Cooma via Cobargo, Brown Mountain & Nimmitabel and see the luscious surroundings.

12.30pm – Complimentary light lunch & visit Jindabyne Visitors Centre informative display about the area, which provides advice from locals and history about the area.

Check in to accommodation for the next 2 nights overlooking Lake Jindabyne at the Lake Jindabyne Motel.

Complimentary 2 course dinner (alternate drop) tea & coffee.

Day 2 – 23 Feb

Complimentary hot breakfast.

Scenic drive to Thredbo alpine village, a fantastic base to see the sublime Alpine landscape the area has to offer.

Opportunity to take the chair lift to the summit (people with walkers will be assisted) & see the breathtaking views surrounding the Kosciuszko National Park.

There will also be an opportunity to walk the first stage of the Kosciuszko summit walk (30 minutes each way) or have a coffee at the summit.

Morning tea/lunch at own expense.

Return to Lake Jindabyne accommodation Complimentary 2 course dinner (alternate drop) tea & coffee.

Day 3 – 24th Feb

Complimentary hot breakfast (Scenic drive to Tumut).

Guided Tour at Gadon Trout Hatchery, which is Australia’s main centre for breeding and rearing cold sport fish and is accompanied by great history.

Viewing of Black Perry Lookout, which highlights the expansive wilderness areas in the Kosciuszko national park.

Stop off at Yarrangobilly caves and visit the limestone cave (opportunity for 2-3 people to visit a cave who need mobility support).

Lunch at own expense at the caves.

Scenic tour of Tumut river to the Blowering Dam, one of the biggest dams in NSW.

Check into accommodation for 2 nights & complimentary dinner at Ashton Motel.

Day 4 – 25th Feb

Complimentary hot breakfast.

Visit to the Tumut Broom Factory, which has been handmaking brooms since 1946 and has an extensive & interesting history of the broom millet.

Scenic drive around Adelong area, which is nestled on the banks of the Adelong creek with a rich history and lined with veranda filled streets.

Lunch at own expense around Adelong area.

Return to Ashton Motel Complimentary dinner.

Day 4 – 25th Feb

Complimentary hot breakfast.

Depart for home via the dog on the tucker box, old Gundagai railway bridge, Jugiong, Yass & Braidwood.
